A Carry’s year alone is not enough. The chassis family, drive type, engine, grade and installed equipment must agree.

Suzuki’s official history identifies 11 core Carry generations from the 1961 FB through the current DA16T. Within those generations, emissions prefixes, two-wheel-drive and four-wheel-drive codes, wheelbase derivatives and special bodies can change without creating a new headline generation.

The letter T commonly identifies the truck body in later chassis families. On several generations, adjacent codes distinguish 2WD and 4WD, but this is not universal enough to decode a vehicle from one character alone. The authoritative check is the stamped chassis number, Japanese export certificate, model plate and the equipment physically fitted to the truck.

“Agricultural specification” is a descriptive translation of Suzuki’s documented 農繁仕様/農繁 selections. This guide does not use “Noujou” or “Farm Special” as an asserted factory trim name.

Which Carry generation is eligible under the U.S. 25-year rule?

Is the Kintaro dump a real Suzuki Carry version?

Yes. Suzuki documents the Kintaro dump in its Carry special-body range. Availability, transmission and equipment depend on model year.

Can a current DA16T be imported into the USA?

Not yet. The U.S. 25-year exemption is calculated from the month and year of manufacture, so a current DA16T is not eligible; earlier Carry generations past 25 years are.
